In IM, looks do matter!

You don’t have to look like George Clooney or Jennifer Lopez to be a successful Internet marketer. Without naming any names, I think it’s safe to say that we’ve discovered even homely people can make it big in this business!

But looks do matter in the IM world. We’re not talking about personal appearance, though. We’re talking about the design and presentation of your sites.

Marketers often have content-driven personalities. They’re much more interested in providing the right stuff than they are in making it look as good as possible. That tendency to skimp on design can be a fatal mistake.

Ugly sites can convert (and some of them do it well), but in most cases a properly designed and well-presented web presence will work a lot better than a less-than-attractive alternative. That means you’ll have to pay attention to presentation and that you might want to hook up with someone who has real design skills to help you out.

You don’t need to invest a fortune in design, but you really can’t afford to roll out ugly pages that look like they’re straight out of 2001. Looks do matter.
